In 1977, Shigeharu started his career at Seibu Department Stores. After serving as General Manager of Corporate Planning Office at Sogo and Managing Director at Millennium Retailing (both currently known as Sogo & Seibu) from 2001 to 2006 and Senior Advisor at Alix Partners Asia from 2006 to 2009, he was appointed as Advisor on Business Strategy and Executive Vice President at Parco. Most recently, he was Representative Director and Chairman at Gordon Brothers Japan.
