In 1980, Osamu joined Mitsubishi Metal Corporation, currently known as Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, where he has been mainly engaged in its metals business. He served as General Manager of the Metallurgy Department and General Manager of the Naoshima Smelter and Refinery. Following his appointment as Managing Director in 2013, he was appointed to the positions of Board Director and Executive Vice President in 2016. In 2017, he was appointed as General Manager of the Technology Division, which was established under his leadership by integrating functions such as R&D, corporate production engineering, procurement & logistics, system strategy and safety & environment. Since 2020, he has served as Senior Advisor to Mitsubishi Materials Corporation.
Graduated from Osaka University and holds Doctor’s degree of Engineering from Kyusyu University
